Hannah Ackroyd

Hannah is a multidisciplinary artist with a strong shape sense and a passion for the day to day life.

How would you describe your art?

My art talks about liminal spaces, buildings and streets, lost and found things.

Links between patterns, writing and photography becoming one media throw plastic art.

What does inspire you?

Literature, travelling, connecting with new places and feel an outsider. Weird absurd things in ordinary life. Day to day life is my way to navigate the world, using it as a diary.

What is being a woman for you?

About nurturing community, supporting one another, inspiring one another. About intuition, growing energy. It leads to a perception of reality sharing and learning process.

What do you celebrate about being a woman?

Approachability, honestly, openness. Learning to be true to yourself.

How do you feel about being a woman in the art industry?

Fortunate. Always have a very powerful female crew around, it has been very motivating seeing so many women empowering their own practice. There is definitely a poetic exploration shared.
