The story of WMN began when Mercedes Polo Portillo and Mica Ramirez wanted to pay homage to International Women’s Day back in 2021, creating a little compilation of artwork made by female artists who were true inspirations and deep friends. Bringing all those artists together was so empowering that we finally decided to create a publication where we also shared feminist texts and exciting facts about women in History.

When we launched the magazine we thought this project couldn’t just end with the once-per-year magazine, so we decided to start creating a community where female creatives could interact. And that’s how we became WMN.
